A drop of water on the road - listen to exciting audio stories on the Elbe
Go with the water drop "ENNI" on an audio journey from Wittenberge to Hamburg
Accompany Jenni and Benni on their journey along and on the Elbe. You will be surprised by their fantastic story and their encounters with ENNI, the living water drop. Jenni is actually convinced that water drops want to discover their surroundings, just like us.
Jenni and Benni are astonished that there is sometimes a nearly untouched nature just before Hamburg. The Elbe is one of the most beautiful natural river landscapes in Europe. At a length of about 180 kilometres, you will experience the river with its secrets, stories, beauties and treasures.
They love travelling by boat and by bike. They also want to find the water drop ENNI and know what it sees underwater or from the air. You can also visit magical castles and fortresses, picturesque half-timbered houses and many museums.
Maybe you will also discover ENNI, the living water drop!

The Project
The experience routes of the five focus regions were developed as part of the main project "Cultural Landscape Routes" of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region (2016-2018). Audio guides, audio slideshows and flyers were produced and integrated into the websites of the Hamburg metropolitan region and the five focus regions.
Each audio guide route is presented by a leading character:
The well-travelled Hamburger merchant and landowner "Baron Caspar Voght" accompanies guests through the Pinneberger Baumschulland.
The fictional heath resident "Hinnerk Heidjer" leads the interested visitors through the Lüneburg Heath.
The little dormouse "Hazel" leads through the Segeberger Knicklandschaft. And the two children "Benni and Jenni", together with the water drop "Enni", invite you to go on exciting adventures along the Elbe between Wittenberge and Hamburg.
In the garden and lake district of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, in personal interviews, craftsmen give insights into their manufactories.
Locals and tourists are brought closer to typical cultural landscapes, adventure areas and regional products. Cultural landscapes of the metropolitan region of Hamburg should be strengthened and made more well-known as recreational, leisure and tourist destinations.
The project also helps to preserve and pass on knowledge about the origin of regional products and traditional techniques of their production, for example, by providing information about demonstration manufactories and gastronomic offers. Regional producers should be strengthened and sustainable economic impulses should be set. The project contributes to the increase in the regional value and the preservation of unique landscapes.
